As Managing Director for MMBC, Allen oversees the first 100% Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program in Canada where industry assumes full financial and managerial responsibility for the residential recycling system.

Allen has extensive experience in sustainability and extended producer responsibility, having held leadership roles with the Retail Council of Canada and the Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors, advancing those industries’ responses to a range of complex sustainability issues including climate change, sustainable packaging, EPR programs, responsible sourcing, and animal welfare. Allen has sat as a Director for several stewardship agencies in Canada including Encorp Pacific, the Electronic Products Recycling Association, Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba, and the Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association. Allen is also the Managing Director of the Multi-Material Stewardship Western (MMSW) Program in Saskatchewan.
